FACAA’s legacy program the Julia’s justice legal reform campaign aims to bring the justice back to the legal system. To do this we write submissions to any committees or legal reform councils who will hear us in order to get a survivor centric and trauma informed approach to the legal system and the legislations that governs it.

To complete these submissions FACAA ask our members for their ideas and then consult with legal professionals who ensure everything we are suggesting is achievable within the legislative framework and that the voices of our members are being heard.

To date this program has been one of our greatest successes. FACAA were a big part of bringing in the Children’s Champion (now known as the Witness intermediary) program which was trialed at the Downing center.
